  • Once your procedure has been scheduled, please notify us immediately if a conflict arises; as we have many patients needing procedure. In order to provide the most efficient scheduling to our patients, surgery cancellations without a 24-hour notice will be charged $100.00. Cancellations can be made at ANY time by calling (800) 345-VEIN or (631) 444-VEIN
  • Please be sure to bring your compression stockings with you the day of your procedure. We will apply them at the completion of the vein procedure 
  • It is not necesssary to arrive with an empty stomach and please take your routine medications as usual
  • Please notify your physician if you are breastfeeding prior to the procedure. Someone will provide you guidance regarding breastfeeding your baby
  • You will have minimal pain after the proceudre for which you may take Ubuprofen or Advil
  • You may drive to and from the office

 Post Procedure Instructions

  • We will apply your compression stockings immediately at the completion of procedure
  • The stockings should remain on for 48 hours after the procedure, removing only to shower
  • After the first 48 hours, it is recommended to wear the compression stockings during the day for 1-2 weeks
  • You may return to normal activities immediately after procedure
  • When sitting it is recommended to elevate your legs
  • Spider veins typically require sessions of injections before they disappear. The veins initially look worse for 1-2 weeks after each session of injection sclerotherapy. It is expected to see results 2-4 weeks post procedure
  • It is advised to avoid direct exposure to the sun for approximately 2 weeks after the procedure
  • Occasionally treated areas may require an additional procedure called evaluation.  Evacuation is a simple office procedure that is used to remove persistent blood that is trapped in an injected vein.   Evacuation is most successful within 1-2 weeks post procedure.  If you notice dark areas overlying injected vein networks, call the office at (800) 345-VEIN to schedule a follow up appointment for evaluation. 
  • Be sure to have your 1 week post-procedure visit scheduled with your physician and a follow up ultrasound. If any changes need to be made call (800) 345-VEIN or (631) 444-VEIN
  • Call the office at (800) 345-VEIN or (631) 444-VEIN  if you should experience severe pain, high fever, significant swelling, bleeding, drainage or open ulcerations in or around the injection sites
